Privacy Policy
Effective date: November 1, 2026
This policy describes what personal information is handled when you read occxam.it, why, and what you can do about it. The operator is the person or organisation running Occxam, referred to below as we or us.
Visit logs on our servers
The servers that deliver Occxam keep routine logs. An entry can contain your IP address, the time of the request, the article opened, your browser and device type, and the referring page. We use these records to keep the site available, investigate errors and hostile traffic, and see in broad terms which articles are read. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a stable site.
Cookies and similar technology
The site may set small files or use browser storage that pages need in order to display and work. No tracking of readers is part of that setup. If the site ever adds analytics, advertising or affiliate tracking, this policy will say so before it starts.
Controls in your browser
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings, browse privately or add tools that restrict tracking. If your browser sends a do-not-track or global privacy signal, we treat it as an opt-out wherever our technology allows. Blocking storage may change how some page elements behave.
Emails you send to Occxam
When you write to [email protected], we receive your address and whatever you include. We use it to reply, to check and make corrections, and to keep a record of the exchange, because you asked and because we have a legitimate interest in an accurate publication. We do not sell messages or quote one publicly without your agreement.
Newsletters and forms
If Occxam offers a newsletter or form, the details you enter are used for that purpose, such as sending the briefing you requested, on the basis of your consent. Every issue would carry an unsubscribe route, and an email to us works as well.
Outside services
Publishing relies on providers such as hosting and content delivery. They may receive technical details about your visit so pages reach you, under their own privacy notices. The site currently embeds no outside widgets or videos. If it ever adds analytics tools, ad or affiliate networks or embedded content, they would be listed here.
How long information is kept
Visit logs are held for a short, fixed window before they are erased or boiled down to anonymous counts. Emails are kept while useful for answering you, correcting an article or meeting a legal duty, and deleted once that need ends.
Making a request
Depending on where you live, you may ask what personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or erased, object to certain uses, or ask us to restrict them. Email [email protected] and describe what you want. We may need to confirm the request is yours, and we will respond within the time the law sets.
Withdrawing consent
Where we rely on your consent, for example for a newsletter or optional storage, you can withdraw it at any time. The Cookie Policy page linked in the footer explains how to change your choices here, and an email to us will stop any mailing.
Complaining to a regulator
If you think your details have been mishandled, you may complain to your local data protection authority if you are in the EU, EEA or UK, or to the OAIC if you are in Australia. Going to a regulator does not depend on having written to us first.
Young readers
Occxam covers business strategy, startups and technology for working adults, and occxam.it is not aimed at under-13s. Gathering details about a child is not something the site is built to do. If a young person has written to the site, a parent can email us, name the message, and we will delete it and any reply we hold.
Security
The inbox for [email protected] is protected by a private login, and access to the hosting account is limited to the operator. Because business readers may be tempted to send contracts, pitch decks or financial figures, please do not email confidential material; no internet system is entirely safe, and we cannot promise absolute protection.
Data moving between countries
Hosting and delivery providers may handle data in several countries, where laws can differ from yours. By reading the site you accept that technical data may travel in this way.
Updates to this policy
Changes to the site or to data rules may lead us to rewrite parts of this text. The effective date above shows when the current version began, and continuing to read Occxam afterwards means you accept the updated text.
Withdrawing consent and complaints
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time; this does not affect anything done before. See the Cookie Policy for the cookies in use and how to manage them. If you live in the EU, EEA or UK you can complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office); in Australia, to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
