About Us

Why Occxam Exists

Occxam is a small independent publication about how businesses are planned, started and run with the help of technology. It is written for founders weighing their next move, operators who inherit a strategy they did not choose, and curious readers who want to understand how companies make decisions.

Where strategy, startups and software overlap

Articles fall under business strategy, startups and technology. The boundaries are loose on purpose, because a pricing decision shapes a product roadmap, and a tool choice can quietly set the limits of a young company.

  • Business Strategy looks at positioning, competition, pricing logic, planning habits and the trade-offs behind growth choices.
  • Startups follows the early stages: testing an idea, finding first customers, setting priorities and knowing when to change course.
  • Technology explains software, platforms and emerging tools in terms of what they change for a working business.

Our way of working

Pieces aim to be useful on a Monday morning. Claims are checked against primary sources such as company filings, published research, official documentation and public statements, and opinion is labelled as opinion. When the evidence is mixed or depends on the size and market of a company, the article says so plainly.

Business advice dates quickly. Tools are retired, markets move and yesterday’s rule of thumb stops working, so older pages are reviewed and revised when they no longer hold.

The readers we have in mind

Some readers are launching their first venture; others have run teams for years and want a clear second view on one question. Nothing here assumes a large budget, an investor network or a technical background.
